Admission

Service User's referred for admission to Foxhill Manor Nursing Home are encouraged to visit the home's facilities and discuss the level of service/care package required to meet individual needs provided. A month's trial period is always given before taking permanent residency.

Foxhill Manor provides general and mental health nursing care for 26 persons over elderly people with dementia and other related mental disorders requiring specialised nursing care. Admissions can also be considered for people below the age of 65 with the agreement of local social services and Care Quality Commission.

All referrals for placement will be subject to a preassessment by the Registered Manager. The assessment process will identify needs, physical health and disability, level of dependency, level of sensory/cognitive impairment, challenging behaviours, nursing/ management risks and safety, interests/ hobbies and any specialist needs. Discussions will be held with care managers and relatives and the service user before any decision/ agreement is made for the placement.

The home may not be able to care for certain catergory of people due to constraints of the internal structure of the Home.

All prospective service users will be assessed to ensure their needs can be met safely including any risk factors. This pre-assessment procedure also applies to emergency admissions. All service users/ reprensentativs will be issued with a placement contract with the terms and conditions of residence where service users or another party are paying either in full or part for the cost of their care. The contract will describe the range of services included in the weekly charge and services that will be charged separately.
